Jacksonville Jaguars vs New York Jets
Joe D'Amico NFL Pick Thursday! I just want to tell you guys; I’ve been doing this for a very very long time. And we see very often in all sports in sports betting, lines that aren’t what they should be. Now sometimes it’s because the odds makers are anticipating the general public’s reaction to a line. So, it’s already adjusted when it comes out. And other times, they are looking to trap you. They’re looking to make you think…or I should say overthink why a specific line is what it is. And in the Jaguars/Jets matchup tonight that is the case. This is a low total.
Now we have seen some totals that were even lower than 37 this NFL regular season. But this is a pretty low total, guys. The oddsmakers are begging you to go under. Having said that, I can tell you that these two teams, over the last seven years have played to five consecutive overs. This includes last Decembers combined 47-point matchup. Coming into this game Jacksonville has played to four consecutive overs. Trevor Lawrence is starting to make very good decisions, the team is getting healthy, and it has resulted in more points scored. As of this morning, Lawrence is listed as questionable. Always do your due diligence. If he plays, great. If he doesn’t, although his backup isn’t as good, it does make it tougher for the Jets “D” as they have not prepared for the change.
Going back to the Jags, they’ve also given up a lot of points. Just over the last five games they’ve allowed 27, 27, 40, 22, and 34-points. On the flipside, we all know that as of right now Zach Wilson will be taking the reins for New York. Last week against Detroit, he was just 18 of 35 passing and the headlines were that he was shaky. He did miss several receivers. But he still threw for over 317 yards and two touchdowns in the air. The BYU-product has had a full week to get in sync with his receivers. and I think you’re going to see him have a decent performance this week. I mean after all, he goes up against the 29th ranked pass defense of the Jaguars. A lot of people are talking about the Jets defense. And they have played very well this season.
But their last three weeks, they’ve allowed Minnesota the score 27, Buffalo to score 20 and Detroit score 20 as well. I do think that you’re going to see some scoring in tonight’s game. I’m not saying there going to be so much scoring that you’re going to need to change the bulbs in the scoreboard after the game. But what I am saying is 37 is a low total. And I feel that this game is going to go over. By the way, the over is 8-1 in the Jaguars last nine played on the road and 5-1 in the Jets last six games played on Thursday Night. Winnipeg Jets vs. Boston Bruins Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 7:05pm EST
Oskeim Sports NHL Pick - Since 2016, .600 to .700 NHL underdogs off a home win in the first half of the regular season are just 14-51 versus teams with a winning record, losing by an average margin of 1.3 goals per game over that span. These teams are an even worse 8-37 as road underdogs, losing by an average of 1.6 goals per game, and 6-33 if their win at home was by two or more goals, losing by an average margin of 1.7 goals per game. Since 1997, NHL underdogs off 15 or more wins in their last 20 games are just 284-366 (43.7%) with limited rest over their previous four games, including 51-82 (38.3%) since 2020 and 35-57 (38.0%) since 2021.
Since 1997, .601 or greater non-conference road underdogs off a game in which they scored three or more goals are 79-151 (34.3%; -23.4% ROI) with less than two days of rest, including 9-21 in their last 30 circumstances. NHL Pick BET ON Boston Bruins .
