Los Angeles Dodgers vs Baltimore Orioles
Dionne D'Amico Pick - The Dodgers took Game 1 yesterday 6-4, ending the Orioles eight game win streak. Today’s matchup though is all about the pitchers, as Michael Grove and Tyler Wells are scheduled to start. Grove is 1-2 with a 6.89 ERA. In his last outing against the Angels, the right-hander allowed four runs on six hits in six innings of relief. And when on the mound on the road, he is 0-1 with a whopping 11.15 ERA. Wells on the other hand, is 7-4 with a 3.18 ERA. In his last outing, the right-hander held the Twins to two runs on six hits over six innings. Wells has allowed fewer than three earned runs 12 times in his 17 starts this season. As I mentioned earlier, its all about the pitchers, and Wells is the hotter and better pitcher in this matchup. San Diego Padres vs Toronto Blue Jays
Matt Fargo Sports Pick - This is a play on the TORONTO BLUE JAYS for our Tuesday Free Play. Toronto opened the second half with a sweep of Arizona to make it four straight wins and the Blue Jays are now just 5.5 games behind Tampa Bay for first place in the American League East and they have taken over second place in the Wild Card standings. This by playing the third toughest schedule in baseball. The Padres dropped the final three games against the Phillies over the weekend as the disastrous season rolls on. San Diego is six games under .500 and trails the Dodgers by 10.5 games in the National League West and it sits eight games out of the final Wild Card spot in the National League.
Alek Manoah was either cured in his demotion to the developmental league or his last start was just a façade. He allowed only one run on five hits and no walks while striking out eight in six innings against the Tigers. He will play a big part in this stretch run. Joe Musgrove is the reason San Diego is the slight favorite tonight as he has shaken off a slow start by allowing three runs or less in nine straight start, eight of which have resulted in quality outings. Six of the last seven have been at home however with the only road game coming at Pittsburgh and has a huge test here. Play (976) Toronto Blue Jays.
