Houston Astros vs Chicago White Sox
Matt Fargo Sports Pick - This is a play on the CHICAGO WHITE SOX for our Friday Play. The Astros went into their off day on a two-game winning streak but it has been a very sloe start for the reigning World Series champions as they are now just one game over .500 overall. Ganted, Houston has played better on the road than at home but are a big favorite tonight behind an unproven starter. The White Sox are starting to play better as after a 10-game losing skid, they have won six of their last 11 games including three of four at home prior to their recent seven-game roadtrip.
Despite being 13 games under .500, they are still very much in the mix in the very weak American League Central. Michael Kopech has been anything but the ace of the rotation with his inconsistencies as he has a 5.97 ERA and 1.57 WHIP though six starts but only two of those have really hurt his numbers. He is coming off an average performance against the Reds but he was staked to an 11-1 lead through two innings so he basically just went through the motions after that.
J.P. France is making just his second career start and he was very solid in his debut as he allowed no runs on three hits over five innings against the Mariners but the bullpen could not help him out in the 7-5 loss. That bullpen is becoming an issue as the relievers have a 6.63 ERA over their last seven games and will likely be called in for a decent workload again tonight. Play (918) Chicago White Sox.
