Matt Fargo Sports CBB Pick - This is a play on the DRAKE BULLDOGS for Wednesday. With a loss at Missouri St. on Sunday, Drake fell to 2-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference coming in as one of the favorites to begin the season. Both losses came against teams 3-1 or better and the Bulldogs have another similar matchup tonight and this is a game to prove to themselves they can win on the road against good teams.

They are 0-4 on the road with all four games against teams with similar makeups based on the lines and they have failed to cover any of those which puts them in a contrarian situation to break the streak of road teams being 0-11 in their 11 games when not playing on a neutral floor. Drake is 14-5 ATS in its last 19 games after allowing 30 points or less in the first half in two straight games. Southern Illinois has made some early unexpected noise as it has won six straight games including the last two in the conference to improve to 3-1 in the MVC.

The Salukis are an identical 11-4 overall which includes a 6-1 record at home but four of those wins came against some bad teams where they were favored by at least 14.5 points in each game with another win coming against a non-Division I team. The lone loss came against Indiana St., which is a very surprising 4-0 in the conference, and this is now their biggest test as the last victory came against Belmont which is not on the same level as Drake.
